This is the site of Lee Jackson - and I'm a little obsessed with the social history of Victorian London.
This unfortunate fixation has manifested itself in various ways. I've written seven historical crime novels (published in the UK and France); two anthologies about Victorian daily life; a coffee-table book; and, most recently, a guide to Walking Dickens London. I also have an ever-increasing set of photographs of the surviving parts of the Victorian metropolis; a burgeoning Kindle publishing empire (that may be a slight exaggeration - more of a small fiefdom) and a shameless addiction to Twitter.
Occasionally, people even pay me to write things or talk to them. I am currently working on a book for Yale University Press, provisionally entitled Dirty Old London.
I am forty-one years of age and muddle along pleasantly enough in Stoke Newington with my wife and daughter.
I spend an inordinate amount of time on twitter. Find me there at
